fall weekend wrap-up

Hello Tuesday! I'm two days into the week and am still caught up in the awesomeness of the weekend. Let's see: Saturday began with a ton of errands, then PARKER's last volleyball game, the Pumpkin Fest in downtown Franklin, and ended with a drive through Leiper's Fork with my roommate, SHERRI, and rebellious photos taken with buffalo and "no trespassing" signs" before locals could spot us!

Sunday was even more amazing. A new dance was performed at church to the song, REMEMBER THE RAIN (watch the video) and after the great service we all headed to the park for the annual Fall Picnic. TONS of food, LOTS of laughs, cheers while watching the softball game, playing with the kids... and just really enjoying being with one another. How much fun can you fit into a weekend?

she stings like a bee

I'm rolling up my sleeves and am getting ready to take on a mother of a weekend. It'll be jam packed with taking my car to get an oil change, banking, PARKER's volley ball game (and, a victorious ending to that i'm sure!), meeting with some of my RIVER GIRLS (from church), laundry, grocery shopping, TILING THE BATHROOM of this rental house (or putting back the 7 small pieces of tile that decided to up and ditch the rest of the tiles on the bathroom floor), church on Sunday morning, working the html on two web/graphic design projects, getting some photo editing done, putting the final touches on some art work that's begging to be finished, letting ideas for some new tiny pieces of art out and writing down the words that keep waltzing around in my spirit lately. Whew! There will be record breaking Starbucks runs this weekend!

Hello October!... Hello Fall! You're one of my most favorite times of year! I'm loving walking out the door in the morning and feeling a bit of chill in the air and taking in that early fall smell. Today, I'm choosing to embrace you and all that I'm loving about you right now!... You and your:

• $2 pumpkins in boxes with homemade signs


• the ressurection of my favorite sweaters


• the peace, whispering quiet, and settling-in before the stillness of winter


• the crunch of the newly fallen leaves under my feet


• the anticipation of wearing layers of my most comfy and cozy


• that warm and white MARY TYLER MOORE winter coat that colors me girly-girl


• landscapes painted in the richest shades of orange, yellow, brown, and red


• new inspiration and new words swirling around in my spirit that i'll soon let dance upon sheets of paper


• my trusty nikon d300


• dates with THE PORCH SWING at the LEIPER'S CREEK GALLERY at night and a warm cup-a-joe


• and... adios to the creepy and crawly in my basement
